Why a Fair Usage Policy?
- Wave Fiber offers unlimited broadband packages designed to deliver a seamless internet experience to all users.
- However, a small number of subscribers may engage in excessive data usage, leading to network congestion.
- To maintain optimal service quality for all users, especially since broadband operates on shared bandwidth, a Fair Usage Policy is implemented.
- This ensures equitable access for everyone and prevents overuse by a few users from negatively affecting others.
- FUP is calculated based on both upload and download data usage.
What Happens Under Fair Usage Policy?
- Each plan includes a generous data limit, designed so that typical users never exceed it.
- If a user exceeds the Fair Usage Data Limit within a billing cycle (30 days):
- Their internet speed will be reduced to a “Speed Breaker Speed” for the remainder of the month.
- This reduced speed is still optimized to support basic browsing and downloads at reasonable performance levels
Automatic Speed Reset
- Speeds are automatically restored to the subscribed package speed on the first day of the next billing cycle (i.e., after 30 days).
- No manual intervention is needed.
